History

Our "Grif" rice is a typical rice from Sa Pobla region in Mallorca. It is known that already in 1800 rice was cutivated in the "albufera", a humid area close to the sea in the north of Mallorca island. In the 50's and 60's of the twentieth century production of rice in the albufera was abandoned as it moved to the nearby farm lands. Nowadays, the albufera is a natural reserve. We cultivate rice using the underground waters, extracted from wells with traditional windmills.
