Company

"Grif" rice company is composed by siblings Margalida and Joan Serra Crespí and by brothers Sebastià and Antoni Riutort Cladera. They can tell many stories about the rice. Particularly, Joan and Margalida's mother Catalina and grandparents Llorenç and Catalina already worked in the rice cultivation. They planted the rice seeds, moved them to the flooded albufera lands when the plants had grown enough, and collected the ripe rice doing most of the work manually. At the end the rice was dried in the autumn sun. Nowadays all these works are done using modern machinery. The rice shells are removed, as well as all dark seeds, to yield a high quality final product; the "Grif" rice.
